From a land where we can see Spain from our windows on clear days, the story of What the Sea Owes the Land unfolds.
We follow Achraf, a Moroccan teenager who works in the harbor of M’diq with Uncle Abdelkader. Achraf believes that his dreams will never fit in this part of the world. To escape the misery and violence he and his sister endure within their family and to truly feel alive, he decides they must traverse the sea to Spain.
